1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting.
1.2 Apologies were received from Angela Burns AM.
2.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of Public Health Wales and the health boards’ Directors of Public Health.
2.2 Julie Bishop agreed to provide information on a point in time when the balance between affordability and consumption was at a level that public health professionals were comfortable with.
3.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of BMA Cymru Wales, the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
4.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of the Directors of Public Protection Wales and the Welsh Local Government Association.
4.2 Simon Wilkinson agreed to look into whether there were any alternative/additional ways in which the alcohol control agenda in Wales could be strengthened and provide a note to Committee, if appropriate.
5.1a The Committee noted the letter from the Committee to the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services regarding stage 1 scrutiny.
